Having trouble getting baby to take a bottle?

My baby is 6 weeks, and I am back at work only a few hours a week. We have tried almost every bottle nipple available, and they are either too hard, or too long and he gags on them. He has also never taken a pacifier. He seems to have a very strong gag reflex. Anyone have any ideas?? We've tried Avent, playtex naturalatch, gerber orthodontic and the johnson's healthflow ( the short, wide ones) the johnsons he seemed to take the best, but gets a lot of air. My sis said he takes the gerber orthodontic ones into his mouth really well, but ends up gaging on them. Any help is appreciated!

Question about Cat Peeing on Furniture?

My husband and I own a domestic shorthair tabby who is about a year and a half old. We also own two dogs. All of our pets are female. They all get along wonderfully and our cat often tries to play with the dogs. The cat and our one dog are actually really close and they will lay together and sleep together in their favorite chair in the living room and on the bed in our bedroom. The other dog is older and isn't mean to her, but just keeps to herself more. We recently moved into a new home and have been here since August. All of our pets have adjusted really well. However now I'm starting to have second thoughts about the cat. We have a sectional sofa in a "sitting room" in a part of the house we do not use that often, near where her litter box is. Almost every day or every other day we are finding little puddles of pee on the sofa. The puddles are too small to be from our dogs, so we know it is the cat. We have a litter box which is cleaned on a daily basis so I know that is not the issue. We have a huge cat tower for her to play on and we cuddle with her and give her lots of attention on a daily basis. It is really baffling us as to why she would pee on the sofa like this!! We don't really have a lot of toys for her, so the only thing I can think of is that she is either bored and we should get her more toys, or, maybe she is lonely and would like another cat in the house? I mean, we do have 2 dogs, and she is by herself, the only cat in the house. She tries to play with the dogs but that is not the same as playing with another cat. Or is it possible that she still just has not adjusted from moving into this new house? She never used to do this in the old house. What do you all think? Please help!!

My problem understanding Time?

I wanted to know about something that has puzzled me for a while now. Im not a cosmologist or physicist so there is probably a simple answer to this question. Which is, we know that time doesnt run at a constant rate everywhere in the universe, such as, it runs slower for say someone on the earth than someone on a space station(only by a minute amount but gravity still effects it)so is it right in saying that the further you are away from an objects gravitational pull the faster time will tick???and if this is correct then what speed would time be going if you were somewhere say between galaxies and there was no gravitational disturbance of time???...im sorry if im making no sense as i only have a very little understanding of this subject but would love someone in this field of science to explain this to me..thanks alot

I have a question... are you planning on having surgery to repair it or did you have it already? I have worked at a PT clinic and dealt with this stuff a lot. If you haven't had surgery then you may have damaged some of your meniscus or ACL more. If you have had surgery and this happened, well that is just really not good and you probably re-tore your ACL. I would call up your physical therapist or doctor and get his/her advice. As far as treating the pain, icing it for 20-30 minutes every 2-3 hours and taking ibuprofen is really all you can do for now. Good luck!

What to do about Bridesmaid Dress -- Alfred Angelo

I will be a bridesmaid in my friend's wedding on march 14, 2009. She wants us to wear Alfred Angelo bridesmaid dresses, which mean I need to order soon, since they tell you it takes 16 weeks to come in. The problem is I am trying to get healthier and have been losing weight and plan on hopefully losing at least another 20-40 pounds before her wedding. So what would you do about ordering a dress? Is this horse an older horse? Some older horses tend to get a little sway backed and the backbone with jut out. As long as u are padding up her back with pads good under the saddle and she doesn't seem to have any problems when u get on her back u should be fine. If it was hurting u she would let u know, some horses groan when u set on them, some will not break into a trot or gallop, some will actually buck to get the pressure off, some will stop and turn their head back to their back, and after u ride watch to see if she is very stiff acting when walking. I think you're safe in riding her if no signs are demonstrated to u.

well for the past month or so i've been getting all types of pains around my . 80% of the time, the pain is sharp, but sometimes it can be achy or something else. the only reason i think it's vulvodynia is because i dont have bad discharge, my looks healthy, and im not ually active so it cant be an sti. i also think its vulvodynia because the pain is always in a different place. sometimes the pain can spread to my rectum, sometimes i get the pain in my labias, sometimes it can be around my oris and sometimes its in my mons pubis. the pain usually only last for a few seconds, and i only get it a few times a day. Having the same dream since I was a child?

The first time I remember ever having this dream I was 5. I am still having this dream and I am now 24. It's really scary and it hasn't got any easier over the years. I am always trapped in my house with tons of demons and they are taunting me. Im 19 my bf is 22. We have been together almost three years. We both work and go to school. I work Mon Wed Fri nite he works Tues Thurs and Sat til 6 so we don't see each other a lot at all. We look forward to Sat. eve when were finally both free. He lives at home and has only his cell phone bill to pay. Mom pays gas, car insurance and food. He recently (few months ago) took a part-time job at an upscale sungl store. AWhen he comes home on Sat by six he NEVER wants to do anything (like out to eat/movie) so we usually just hang out. The past three saturdays he went in a 9 expecting to leave by 5 or 6. They are short handed and ask him to work and he does. So he doesnt get home til 10. I feel it's a "going no where" job anyway so he should open his mouth and say "I have a girlfriend I don't see all week and a life so I can't". But, he doesn't. He works 12+ hours. I feel he is putting this pointless job before seeing me and at one point I switched my sat. to fri nite so I could see him and now I can't anyway until 11. When we do (once in a blue moon) go somewhere I pay half. I really upset that he isn't putting seeing me before a 12 hour shift at a sungl hut! while i am still just a freshmen in high school, i figured now is the time to at least map a plan for college.by what i have looked at, there are three schools that have really caught my attention; Penn, Brown, and UNC. Okay, so I have this best friend (ashlyn) and we have been good friends since we wherre very young. (like first grade) well things have always been great, untill this year when we where in 7th grade. She met a girl named Jesse, and they became friends. (and i was fine with this) Well, Jesse doesn't know how to make friends unless she can make them feel sorry for her. So ya ashlyn and Jesse had a sleep over, and Jesse told ashlyn all this **** like she gave a dude a bj on a church van, and she was cutting herself, and she tried to hang herself once. And i think that hooked ashlyn. She was scared. Jesse would call her or text her and tell her that she was going to kill herself. Ashlyn would FREAK. ( shes one of those really sweet nice kids thats really protected from all bad) she would call me scared asking me what to do. Her and Jesse would get into fights, and Jesse quickly wormed her way out by saying she was Going to kill herself, so ashlyn would be scared and take her back. So Ashlyn couldn't end their freindship, she didn't want the guilt of somebodys death on her shoulders, wich i completelly understand. Well, they started hanging out more and more and more. They became best friends. Jesse convinced ashlyn that i beat her. Ashlyn startd saying that i would hit her and all this crap wich i still dont understand (lol) well then Ashlyn started going back and forth beetween me and Jesse. Well lately, I have noticed that my mind has seem to wander a bit or when I look at an object that I know what its called, another name pops into my head for some reason. For instance, I looked at a cover(bed) and thought towel(bath) for some reason. Also, I am very forgetful. Sometimes I could think of something and like a few seconds later, BAM!! instant memory blank, and it takes a few mins to remember just what I was thinking about. Also, I tend to misplace stuff a lot and frequently, like my phone and other things. It could just be anxiety. The thought of possibly having these sicknesses makes it even worse. I am 18 years old. I know most people will just answer me and tell me that I am depressed or anxiety or something on those lines. I feel like its something more. I have also been to therapy.

Newborn and baby question: i am about to give up i am just so frustrated?

My son is 13 1/2 months and never really cared for solid food. Well now he rejects pretty much everything except the gerber lil crunchies,gerber yogurt melts,gerber fruit bites and occasionally some cheerios or something like that when I give him something new and if by god he likes it he will eat the mess out of it for the first 2 or 3 hours then won't touch it for a few months. So since he doesn't eat well he is on toddler formula but now is rejecting that he isn't loosing weight. He is a very active toddler running and playing he won't eat in the high chair. I just have no clue what to do I need some guidance I know his doc won't do anything since he isn't loosing any weight at a year old he was 23 pounds and 32 inches long

Why are Muslims so sensitive regarding criticism of the "prophet" Mohammed?

I am an agnostic, so I do not profess to any particular religion. But I do enjoy learning about all the beliefs of the major religions (Islam, Christianity, Judaism, and Buddhism). What I do not understand is why do Muslims react aggressively and violently to criticism of Mohammed? I can criticize the main aspects of Christianity and Jesus Christ in front of Christians, and although they may get upset, they will not kill me. If I were to go to Saudi Arabia, Iran, Yemen, ect, and question the tenets of Islam and Mohammed I would surely be killed. How is this justified?

I can't remember the name of a movie I saw a little while ago. The movie was centered on a group of four teenagers about college age. There had a been an outbreak of a deadly virus and it was highly contagious (anything an infected person touched had to be sanitized with bleach). It seemed like an end-of-the-world thing because most had been infected or died. At one point, the teenagers picked up a little girl and her father, but they abandoned the two. Also, they eventually found a car with two older women (Christians by the Jesus fish bumper decal) but one of the teens shot them because they were refusing to help their group. I remember the four wore surgical masks decorated with different smiles in Sharpie. At the end, only two of them had survived and found refuge on a beach to wait for the virus to die out. I'm getting my braces off in February and have some questions?

The procedure depends on what kind you have. If you have the brackets cemented to your teeth it doesn't hurt too bad, it's more annoying than anything (speaking from experience here). You will defiantly get a retainer, if you're under 18 they will likely tell you that you have to wear it 24/7 for a while and then you only have to wear it at night until you're 18. Definitely do this, if you don't your teeth may not stay strait. Unfortunately you will have a lisp for the first little while you have the retainer, but I think that feeling nice smooth teeth rather than metal brackets is a bigger plus.

Guitar Help Needed!! (Epiphone SG-310) (Tuning/Strings help please)?

Alright so I just got my first guitar. It's a beautiful Sg with all accessories needed. I plugged it up to the amp and learned Smoke On The Water (just the main riff) in about 15 minutes. It sounded amazing, with just the right amount of distortion. Then I decided it wold sound even better if I tuned it so I got out the tuner it came with and started trying. Then I broke the high e-string and I have no idea how to fix it. Also it now sounds more like a banjo than a guitar... :(. I guess I'm just asking if anyone has any pointers on anything to do with the strings, tuning, or tone. Hopefully one of my guitar-savvy friends can come over tomorrow and help me out. although I don't know if there is guitar savvy as they say they are. Any help is greatly aprecciated. :)

Re-powering is a difficult choice. I've done it, and I'm happy with the results, but would I make the same choice again. I don't know. In your case, I know your Bayliner but less about the Wellcraft, but I'd be concerned with newly "rebuilt' engines.....not only that but in the current economy, boats are selling for very low prices. I think I'd look around for something newer, with much smaller, more fuel efficient engine. Giving up speed for fuel efficiency.......Having said that, if you re-powered with say a Volvo, 4 cylinder, freshwater cooled engine, and prop it for your boat (yes it's possible) you could do that for far less than $18K....... those big block engines just consume too much fuel, and the boat sits at the dock. had my black car washed @ an automatic drive- thru wash. I paid for superior (the works) wash. Afterwords, the paint and trim looked as if it had oi;y residue on it. Dental Problems that occur one after the other.....?

Could anyone provide me with some insight? I am a 41 yr old otherwise healthy woman. In Jan. 06, I had a root c and after that had one tooth start to go after another. By April (approx) I had 5-6 root cs, each tooth needed it. I also had some other symptoms during this time (I believe due to infection), such as palpitations, stomach discomfort, throbbing. Dental work all on left side of my mouth & so were phys. problems. I had MRIs, Xrays, bloodwork, EKG, upper GI, etc and all turned out negative. At the present I have already had 3 teeth extracted and another to be extracted today. (one had resorption and later another infected and w/ cellulitis). I have been in alot of pain. My dentist did send me out for consults & though an oral surgeon has seen me recently...I was told by some "didn't want to get involved". IDoes anyone have any guidance? Or if this oral surgeon can't help me, is there somewhere that's interested in helping in unusual cases like this? th-u

My husband has always been a good husband. His job has become stressful over the past year or so, and he works a lot in the evenings. I can understand your frustration, GMB. Back in the day my wife and I could go out and get a few dozen blue within an hour or so. Now it's like we have to hunt them down and this whole season we only caught 2 dozen. My fave Barracuda spot has nothing over 2 feet in it when just last year we were catching them well over 4 feet. Who the heck eats a barracuda that big? My fave bait has dwindled down to hunt and peck and it's just getting tougher. This thing with the tournaments, well it is what it is. Fortunately a lot of tourneys are seeing the value of catch and release. Not many places or countries are in the loop. On the upside, the fish isn't just killed and left behind. Normally, the meat of these fish are donated to help feed the mes. It's a shame it goes down like that but hopefully everyone will see that keeping larger fish alive will bring in more money locally, can help create new jobs and boost the economy rather than showing off a dead fish and proving to the world that they can kill 'em with the best of them. Is there a way to tint the screen inside of your house window?

I am wondering is it a way to tint the screen on the inside of the window for added privacy from nosey kids or neighbors looking through your windows I have regular gl windows no tint in the gl whatsoever....I have a fan in my window but you can still see through it...any suggestions? SERIOUS ANSWERS ONLY OR YOU WILL BE REPORTED.

My canvas is not square ... what to do?

I just finished up a 16 x 20 acrylic painting that I wanted to give to someone as a Christmas gift. I went out and bought a frame for it and everything but when i went to place the painting in, I realized the canvas was not completely square. I can force it in there, but it causes the painting to ripple a bit. I don't know what else to do other than to brace the back with wooden triangles to make sure the canvas frame is square and restretch the canvas. Is this safe to do? I'm worried my painting will crack or end up looking warped or something. Please help!

Who says it is unnecessary and ineffective? This has been the big debate for many years for people who dont believe in the death penalty. Yes, I have seen where I might not serve as a deterrant, but I know it does for many, as I am one of them. I would not just go out and shoot someone as I dont want to die or spend my life in jail. Would you? So, see, it DOES work for a certain percentage of the population as a deterrant. Crimes of Pion? Forget it, nothing works for that situation as a deterrant and really, there was no afforethought, ergo, no prior intent, its usually spur of the moment. But if someone was messing with my family and I killed them, no death penalty in the world would have stopped me. I would have killed them either way, death penalty or not. But you have to have something to threaten people that consider violence towards another person, straight out. Otherwise, without that possiblity, they might just kill someone and figure, they were going to live anyway. I think more people would kill others if the death penalty was dismissed. You HAVE to have harsh penalties available.

I also have some pretty bad acne. Last year I went to a dermatologist and she put me on accutane. It worked well. By the time I got off the medication my skin looked like I had never had any acne. But it came back when I got off. I don't think that happens with most people. Some of the side effects were Dry skin, nose bleeds, depression, chapped lips, and probably some other things. My doctor told me the depression was rare, but I noticed it. Maybe I'm just some sort of crazy exception to accutane, but I think it works better for most people. I don't know the answers to most of your questions, but I have heard drinking lots of water will lead to clear skin. Vitamin A is good for your skin. Accutane is pretty much a form of vitamin A. Too much vitamin A will kill your liver, so accutane is a different form of it, so it does not kill your liver, but you still have to get a blood test to make sure. I advise against cutting them off when shaving. Probably the best thing to do is not to touch your face, wash it several times a day, and ask your doctor about accutane.

Get some straw and cover soil between plants with 2-3" of it. In fall, turn it ALL under to decompose. Fertilize with one that has a lower number in the 3 number series on each, such as 8-12-12. First nbr. is Nitrogen content and that encourages leaves not fruit on plants. Straw not only holds in moisture but keeps roots cooler. Some plants tend to bolt to seed if too hot.

One part of the book that really got my attention was the section that talked about how Jesus sat in the house of sinners. He actually dined in their homes. You have read or heard some of those stories I am sure. But the part that got me was how Jesus didn't feel uncomfortable sitting around them. Now just think about this for a minute, Jesus is God in the flesh. So, God almighty was sitting near the thief. He was within reaching distance of prostitutes and women with reputations. Yet, He talked to them, loved them even. I am even sure that He smiled at them at some point during their conversation.He was talking to the man or woman that He created. God desires so much to have a relationship with mankind. That's why He sent Christ. Really, God is so kind! So, aren't we like Christ in this world. He lives in us by the indwelling of His Holy Spirit. How can we help people in this world if we are to scared or "religious" to talk to them or reach out to them in sincerity?I think that you should never go against your faith concerning anything! We don't conform or accommodate the ideas of this world/enemy. However, Jesus has commanded us to love God with all of our hearts, spirits, minds, and souls. And He commanded us to love one another. So, you continue to love this friend! Yes! Invite him to Bible study. Let the Word of God began to stir him up. You know God wants your friend saved more than you do.
