Does the American Financial collapse/erosion mirror its own Christian moral deficit?
Maybe it would be better to teach our children to be skeptical so that when politicians and businessmen tell them they can get something for nothing, they'll know better. Frankly, I agree with Marx, who said religion is the opiate of the mes. It detracts from people looking out for their own best interest. Consider the Bush administration (W.) He was elected because of his right-wing values, not his pro-business agenda, but while in office it was the pro-business agenda he most successfully pushed forward. This agenda often hurt the little guy - but then the little guy reelected him in 2004 because of his right-wing values. I remember seeing so many people who were out of work or slaving away at low-paying jobs while the rich were getting richer, and thinking, "Why aren't these guys voting for change?" Seriously, people are supposed to vote their pocket book, but these days they vote their religion, and it's killing us all.
