i wouldn't jump to conclusions, i am very flirty with my chic friends but i would not date them or do anything past flirting, maybe he knows you like him and he feels bad if he doesn't pretend to like you back... i have been in that scenario when i was a lot younger, like high school or middle school age. the only way to truly know is to ask one of his friends, cuz if a guy likes you his friends would know before anyone.
