What is wrong with my garden?

Time to compost, fertilize and mulch! Half sand is too much sand. Watering late evening or in the night can cause mold and/or root rot. Early morning is best. Get some straw and cover soil between plants with 2-3" of it. In fall, turn it ALL under to decompose. Fertilize with one that has a lower number in the 3 number series on each, such as 8-12-12. First nbr. is Nitrogen content and that encourages leaves not fruit on plants. Straw not only holds in moisture but keeps roots cooler. Some plants tend to bolt to seed if too hot.
