Over the counter ear mite medicine for a cat?

No, "take him to the vet" or "this prescription drug worked for me" answers please. I've seen a lot of videos of people treating their cats for ear mites with mineral oil and honestly I don't trust it. My cat ain't a hippie, and I believe in biological jihad against parasites. And Purrscriptions doesn't seem to work for him.
