Christmas ideas for my mom?

My dad is pretty useless on ideas lol so im always the one that comes up with what are going to get her. I was thinking a new purse from like pennys or macys and then surprise her and she pulls out a new phone from her purse. The phone will be her main gift but i need little gift ideas.... any good books youd recommend (she loves the book lovely bones etc), and i was going to make a picture slideshow for her. but my mom also is really into recipes and cooking suddenly so is there any really neat cookbook or utensil that isnt super expensive ... other ideas.. thanks.
